I have a 2002 WRX and I' m thinking of replacing my stock air filter. Is there a difference between the K&N filter and the STI filter ? Is one better than the other ?

I' ve read some topics saying that the K&N filter doesn' t do a good job and other topics saying it does, but can' t seem to find anything on the STI filter.

 

I saw an STi filter up close, it looks very similar to a normal paper filter to me. It's not a reusable one like the K&N. I've never had a problem with K&N filters myself. But reicently I switched to a Green Filter. I like the quality more than the K&N:

Are there any benefits to the STI ? I ' ve read various things about the K&N filter. Some people talk about power gains with the K&N.

 

if u want a k&n go to mopac because they have the lowest prices that i could find.

i've been trying to read up on this and i'm seeing more recommendations towards foam filters. i'm still not sure which one is best though.
