Small improvements - what do you think?

I'm thinking of doing a few very small mods to my otherwise bone stock WRX.. Call it stage 0.25 I guess.
Basically, I'm thinking of installing a K&N panel filter in the stock airbox, and changing the rear exhaust section/muffler for the Stromung stainless dual tip.. I'm not looking for a HUGE improvement, but hopefully this will get things flowing a little better.
Thoughts? Are these reasonable upgrades? I've heard that the two things together add ~ 15 - 25 lb/ft of torque, which would be a nice incremental bump. I really don't want to mess with the up-pipe, or do mods that require changing engine management.. After all, the car is still quite new (12K miles) and under warranty. And I'm not a lunatic rally driver, I just want a little extra push, yanno?
Thanks,
T

nobody has ever been able to produce any real positive dyno results for the k&n drop in filter, and changing the tail section of your exhaust is going to hardly let your exhuast breath better, it may sound a little better though... i would go with a turbo back bolt-on exhaust, that way if you need to take it in for warranty service, you can throw the stock system back on in no time. luckily i have a dealership i go to that sells wrx's with TXS staged upgrades already, so they really don't care if you have a few things done to your car.
you don't sound like you wanna mod your car.......to each his own.
don't expect ANY gain w/those two mods......the only thing you'll get out of it is the convinent of not having to buy air filters, and, a nicer sounding exhaust note

An axle will NOT give you 15-25 ft/lb of torque. TurboXS only claims 16 ft/lb with their complete turboback exhaust.

As for the ECU reflash... It comes highly recommended by everyone that has done it. And I need to clear up something that prodrive121 said about Cobb's claim torque.
Cobb has 2 stages for the AccessECU right now...
Stage 1 is just an ECU reflash and give about +25hp/+28TQ
Stage 2 is an ECU reflash and you supply a turboback which gives you +54HP/+49TQ

It's not that I don't want to mod the car.. I just don't want to go to an extreme, or take chances with engine damage etc. After all, 92 octane pump gas is what's available around here and that's about it. Also the car is still under warranty, so I don't want to do anything that will likely foul that up - I mean, I'm not even halfway through the warranty period (and not halfway through paying for the car yet either!).
I might try the reflash - the only part that's really non-appealing about that is the downtime while the computer is gone. I need my car for things like driving to work, so the computer being gone for a few days isn't an acceptable option.
What happened to the days where you could get a 'chip' and change it out in the computer? That would be a LOT better, and can be put back to stock easily if needed to take it in for warranty work (or to troubleshoot, etc). Maybe someone will offer a reasonably inexpensive device that can flash the ECU for you, and put in either the new program, or put the stock one back when needed...
So this reflash will work with an otherwise bone-stock car, and won't fsck anything up?

Horse power sounds about right but I thought stock torque was either 207 or 217 @ 4000 cobb is claiming 265 lb/ftof torque so depending on the stock number the incrase should be 48 or 58?
unless you mean at the wheels then ignore everything i just said.
