should i worry about a reflash???

i currently have:

HKS carbon/ti catback, AVC-R set to 1.05 bar, injen CAI (probly gonna get rid of it eventually, don't know if it helps at all, but it definitely sounds good...)

next:
I just ordered EGT and Oil temp guages, so when i put the egt probe in the exhaust manifold, i think i'll put on an uppipe while its off. when i get around to it, i wanna put on a downpipe as well, but no hurry; gotta get suspension soon.

should i worry about a reflash with these mods, or is it just a luxury i could get if i want to pay for it? for now i was thinking that monitoring the EGT on #3 would be enough, but i'm not the expert, wadda u guys think???

btw, there is a solid dull black coat of soot in the tip of the muffler, from my experience, this is a telltale sign of running rich, correct me if i'm wrong

also props to jriggs, you are the man! thanks for the help dude

so long as you watch your EGTs at partial throttle, you can be ok w/o a reflash.

the reflash will really not give you TONS of power, but it will make everything smoother. more power at partital throttle, w/o worrying about EGTs and will make the car run better over-all.

I say, if you have the money, do it. If you don't have the money, save up.

Don't worry about the re-flash. Just get it. ScoobySaurus is right: smooth power delivery and no more partial-throttle full-boost issues. I have the Cobb Stage 2 AccessECU and I like it a lot.

Thumbs up thanks,

but do you think reflashes are the way to go as i keep on modding? or should i try to sell the AVC-R and get a UTEC?

seems like when i first started visiting here there was a lot more talk about the UTEC, and now reflashes are all the rage... i know i'm showing my ignorance here, but with a reflash we are altering timing, A/F ratio, and boost, right? correct me if i'm wrong or missing something

i live in Oregon and i cant really be without my car long enough for the ECU to get down to Cali to get done up. anybody know of a quality reflash available here closer?

The UTEC seems like a logical choice, just download maps as i mod... or is it more complicated than that?

thanks fellas

btw, my power delivery is pretty smooth as is, but i can't speak for what it will be like with up and downpipes in the system. i just want reliable performance, i'd rather not ever have to take it to the dealer, no matter what caused the problem.
