Yup, it's like what, a 7000 foot difference in elevation?
It's 15.5-16 psi here @ sea level...

you'll probably get another 1 psi of boost... i live in sac, and have mine set to around 13 psi. in tahoe, it was about 14 psi. doesn't really matter tho, cuz if you're that deep into the gas in the snow, you've got more to worry about than your boost.

Doesn't boost drop off at higher elevations unless it's really cold out? Ambient air pressure is more dense if it is cold, but less dense when higher in altitude. I just don't know how much one factor counteracts the other. Keep an eye on that boost gauge for the dreaded part-throttle/full boost (and leanout) condition when climbing grades.

not sure about all the specifics, but here's what I observed a few weeks ago. you need to crank the mbc down to compensate for the colder denser air, otherwise boost will be higher, just like on a really cold night. also, I'm not sure if it has to do with teh lower ambient pressure or what, but low end lag is going to be a little worse, even though mid and high boost power will still be good. IMHO, a bit more lag on the icy roads is a good thing.

Also, be careful of partial throttle full boost when climbing the grades. If you do have problems with PTFB, it will create a lot of heat and you may burn pistons. Remember, when going up hill, the car will be at a lot more load than it would be on flat ground. So you may experience PTFB, unless you put your foot in it.
Turn down the boost a bit before you leave and be careful.

argh where's that "extreme boost" book, i think it had a table of the actual air density given elevation vs. temperature...
yeah I think I'll just take the mbc off...
