I assume the dealer was referring to the STi shifter and linkage when he said 'OEM'. Go with Kartboy. It's half the price of the STi. Makes sense also if you're financing the car because that 200+ dollars will end up costing you a lot more over several years of payments.

The Kartboy shifter and bushings *should* be the optional factory shifter.

What is really shortened?

Excuse me for the naive question...

So what is really shortened with a short shifter?
I assume the shifting distance is, ie. faster shift time
But is the shift stick shortened as well? I mean, do I have to have longer arm to shift if I already could barely shift to the 5th gear right now?
