Red line question

My friend was driving my car last Friday evening, and he hit the red line untill what I think was the rev limitter kicks in . So is that alright for the engine?
Just need to know cause it is bothering me since, so I need some input. Thanks.

ummm... it's "pushing" it a bit. should be fine. pretty sturdy engines. BTW... i don't know if shifting @ redline is optimal... don't the turbos lose some power near the redline?
I talked to a rep from SOA and he said that these cars lose power towrds the redline. He said shift around 6k-6.5k... Also he said that there is not point in shifting at redline. Cause the it's not an N/A let the turbos do it's job. IMO I believe him... Why shift at redline these cars aren't made to drag race their made to handle. I honestly think these cars have enough power to take almost any car around the canyons. That's where the real driving begins. Anyone can drive straight, to really appriciate these cars you have to know what it can really do.

As long as your engine is broken in, occasionally hitting the rev limit won't damage it. That's what it's there for, to keep you from overspeeding the engine. Just don't do it everyday.
