Putting a BOV on
Hey I just bought a 04 WRX. I want to change the BOV and get a great loud sound. I need to know if there is anything more you need to get other than the bov itself. Is there any extra flanges or tubes or anything. Also what is a good BOV that has a great and loud sound. Thanx.

just incase you didn't know, BOV's tend to make the car run a bit rich during shifts, and there are no performance gains. just the cool sound
aside from running rich, the car seems to run not as smooth as it shouldl with the stock bypass valve. Also when u continue upgrading, these excess fuel will pop in your exhaust if you are using turbo XS rfl with a catless uppipe. this is info based from my own experience on my car.

Bov's are tricky to pick. Some Bov's will make your car run a little rich. This happens on some cars while it doesnt happen on others.
My suggestion to you is to pick a BOV that you think you like then be ready to sell it if you dont like the way it interacts with you set-up.
On my personal car, I've been through 3 BOV's and now I'm on the HKS. 2 of the three I've tried had recirculation kits, but that is no fun. If I'm going to buy a BOV, I want to hear it.
Just like 'namakemono' said, there are any performance gains from a BOV. What it will help though, is to prevent boost leak if you end up running big boost.

I just put in my HKS bov last night, it's great! It's pretty easy to install not much work, you might need another set of hands to help you. The guy I bought mine from was a great seller pm if you want more info, he sells the kit at a good price, I highly recommend him.

I'd recommend the GFB BOV, as you can set it up with a 50% vent and a 50% recirc. The car will only run rich if your BOV is set to 100% vent, and it will only happen for the 1/3 of a second between shifts, if it does happen. But like somebody said, it doesn't happen with all of them. Certainly nothing you're going to blow up your engine with. But, likewise, there isn't really any performance gains. Just a cool sound. But, hey, cool sound right
My buddie just bought the Turbo XS RFl. Souds really good!!
Took me 20 min to install. The quality and craftsmanship of the BOV was top notch! Came with everything, shims, adaptor, sleeves for aftermarket charge pipes, plug for the existing dump tube. I put 4 shims in it and it works beautifully!

I am really impressed with the WORX tuning BOV.
Looks like a peice of ART. Really easy to adjust. I think it has 5 different settings and can also be set to run like stock (if you want it too).
I like the sound it's not really loud but it can turn heads. If you want a sound clip try this link
WORX BOV CLIP there are also some good pics.
