Power Loss, HELP!

Hey guys ever since my uppipe install I have been experiencing on going exhaust leaks. I purchased the "fancy" composite gasket kit and later on EVERY single gasket cracked and leaked. I went back to factory gaskets but the flanges between the crosspipe and the passanger manifold and the manifold to uppipe kept leaking no matter how much I tightened them. Anyways I ended up doubling up the factory gaskets to get a tight fit. The very next day I noticed a signifigant lose in power. I reach full boost with no noticable (audible) leaks but the car is just a total dog. The turbo doesnt seem to be spooling any slower, it really just seems like all of the timing has been pulled out. I have a perrin upippe, samco IC hoses, Cobb accessPORT stage I, and a MBC @ 15psi. I tried resetting the ecu but it hasnt changed anything. Its been probably 2 tanks of gas since and the problem still presists. When I get a chance im going to bring it into Subyspecialties and have them check it out. In the meantime anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks!

_justin

The first thing I notice is that you have an AccessPORT (good on you), but you also have an MBC (bad on you). You don't need the MBC with the AccessPORT. Cobb sets up the programming a certain way and increases the boost through the programming. I'm not sure if this is why your car is running bad, but it might be. Your ECU might be fighting the MBC. Remove the MBC, reflash your ECU with the AccessPORT, and see if that helps.

ya
you should get rid of the mbc

the accessport turns up your boost for you, not sure if thats the problem, i dunno what kind of boost you're hitting, but its worth a shot
i dont' see how having an extra gasket will slow your car down either though...

Negative on the whole removing the MBC. Ive actually done something cool with it. I have the Stock controller still hooked up but the MBC inline between the boost refrence point and where the line T's off to the stock controller. This process works very well. I used the MBC to set a "base" boost setting and then the ECU can control boost on top of that. Ive tried it with and with out this set up, it has nothing to do with my recent problem.

Anything else?

NO. There's no question. If you have a Cobb AP, you NEED to remove your mbc (this is coming from Trey Cobb himself). Don't mess with those two together.

Cobb says not to use an after market boost controller to manage boost. Im not doing that. Im using the boost controller before the stock wastegate control soleniod to modify its boost refrence which in turn just gives you an adjustable base boost. It just changes the amount of boost that the stock controller gets it input off. Then the stock controller functions however cobb programmed it to. Ive been using it like this since I got the accessport a few months ago with no problems. Either way this has nothing to do with my problem because I have even uninstalled the accessPORT in troubleshooting my loss of power.

Thanks Guys,

The problem could be as simple as a loose hose, check all your connections.

Ive, checked em. And guess what, last night the uppipe leak came back and this time its worse then ever. Im gonna get rid of the Perrin pipe and try a Helix uppipe with a flex pipe. Maybe I had a leak this whole time that I couldnt hear at all that was robbing the power.
