oil in the intercooler
i have a 04 wrx with sti short block, vf34 turbo, sti pink injectors, walbro fuel pump, hks DP, helix UP, 5zigen straight through muffler, ecutek engine manegment. Car keeps misfireing cylinder 2 and 4, and has oil in the intercooler, had head work and a valve replaced but missfire continues. Shop says engine is in good shape. Also have 2002 wrx ecu in car. If anyone has any ideas please help.
the oil in the IC is normal if you do not run a catch can, get one if you don't.
1) swap the coilpacks from 2 & 4 to 1 & 3, reset the ecu. If the misfires move to 1 & 3 your coilpacks are bad, otherwise goto step 2.
2) check your plugs, proper gap should be around 0.030", make sure they are the correct plugs. NGK BKR7*.
