First of all, do not take off your heatshield. I know It looks like crap but It's not A good idea. You want your turbo hot and your intercooler cool. If it bothers you the speedmonkey heatshield is cheap and looks very cool.
I would'nt recommend a bov either. I'm sure you'll hear plenty about that from others, but in my opinion, It's a worthless part.
Some things you can do is to get rid of those nasty kittens in your up-pipe and downpipe. Also the silencer mod adds A little sound. Trust me, the cats are the key. Your turbo will make so much damn noise at first you'll think there is problem. If you just want the high pitch whine, than just stick with the silencer. If you kill the cats you'll make turbo noise in every gear.

Thanks, I just got my Subie home last night and already removed the silencer and SUBARU emblems from the back. I would love a catless d-pipe however I really want to keep my warranty. Any suggestions on performance parts that wont void the warranty or can be easily removed?
um
anything you do voids warrenty
and getting a catless DP is an easy swap out
i've got helix up and down pipes and cobb stage 2 reflash + goodies
and i hear lots of spools and i love it
get a turbo back, swapping out a down pipe hardly takes any time at all. but if you plan to get an up pipe in the future, do them both at the same time because you have to remoev teh DP to get to the up pipe
