Red face KTR Performace - Exhaust/ECU Upgrades

I just got back from KTR Performace in Ayer, Mass. These guys are listed on Vishnu's site and look really serious. They have 10s of millions of dollars worth of cars on the premises. In any case, I asked them about getting a custum up and down pipe with the CEL fix and a reflashed ECU/dyno tuning. They want 230 for a Bosal Downpipe w/out cat and 112.50 for labor. 250 for a scoobysport uppipe, 20 for the CEL fix and 262.50 for labor for both. 650 for the ECUTek Reflash and 200 for the flash itself and dyno tuning. That comes to $1915. That sounds a bit high to me, but these guys seem to know what they're doing in a pretty serious way. How much power will this get me and where can I come up with 2 grand?

Well, you can sure save some money if you do the installation yourself. On the other hand, if you don't have time, tools, or the place it doesn't seem to expensive for the labor. You could always try to buy used parts to save money that way. Also, you can do the upgrades in stages. Do the Up/Down first, then save money for the ECU reflash. You'll probably get close to about a 30 whp increase with doing the exhaust alone. The reflash will also give you another 30 whp easily.

IIRC, the bosal downpipe only removes one of the cats in the car. Unless you want to keep the 3rd cat in the car, then i would recommend another downpipe. With that setup people usually gain +/- 50 whp.
