I have a few mods on the car, last night I did abit of a burn out in mildly snowy roads. I think that I got the car up to about 6200 in first before letting off, ( I know it's not the brightest thing) Now there's a different whine when I when I let off the gas. It only happens in first though? Tranny fluid is fine and nothing is leaking, I will check the diff tomorrow. What could it be ?

don't worry about getting it up to 6200. its not a bad thing to hit redline once in a while
im not sure what the whine is however.

 

Thanks for the answer, I'm taking my car into the dealer in the new year to see what it could be. I've looked all over the forum board, but it hasn't helped. There's nothing external showing (leaks and stuff) I think that it may have something to do with the syncro mesh, but I have no trouble shifting.

 

Be careful. If you have a completely unrelated mod to the problem at hand SOME dealers will STILL void the entire warranty. Good luck.

 

I don't want to give the dealer any reason for voiding my warranty, so it look like I'm going to have to put the stock exhaust back on. I've also done the up pipe, but it was a pain, so it's staying on. This problem with the tranny isn't power related, but who knows with the dealer.

 

you know i know what your talking about. i had a little fun in the dirt one night, and when i was pulling into the driveway in first i heard it. If the dealer finds out what it was lemme know.

 

Blue blurr, How long has your tranny been making this stange whine? Is it still ok shifting wise? I'm taking my car in to the dealer on the 3rd or 4th, after I swap out the exhaust for the stock. When I find out what it is I'll let you know

 

I always get a whine when I downshift into second, don't really get it in first though.

Not sure if its normal or not, but I had it with my first tranny and I still have it with my RA tranny...

 

Well, I finaly got a responce from my dealer. After they tried to give me the speach about my car has been HEAVLY modded. (up pipe and I/C hoses) they said it was a set of bearings in the tranny. And oh my god, there fixing it! Under warenty! It's going to take a couple of days for the parts, I hope.
