Hey everyone.... I got a 2004 WRX. I am going to upgrade the i/c. But, I am not sure what is the best one. I have been looking and I found a MRT tmic. Seemed like it was the good sh*t. Then I wouldn't mine going for a front mount. MRT also makes a nice front mount but it is a little pricey. Does anyone have any suggestions of which one I should consider????
Thanks,
Thanks,

Well how much horse power do you want outta your ride? Unless you want a high boost, high hp car a TMIC should do just fine. If you dont have basic bolt ons yet, those could go first.

Yes I do have a list of the basic bolt-ons that I will be adding. I am not going for a high horsepower race car. I am just planing on building nice street car. I may eventually upgrade the turbo.

Get the Hyperflow TMIC (TurboXS). Largest on the market. Even larger then the MRT. And cheaper too. The V2s that are out now with the polished ends look nice, that's what I have. If you haven't up'd the boost pressure there's no reason to drop the cash on a TMIC yet. Do your exhaust first and go from there. I put every bolt on I could on my car including exhaust, then did a Cobb stage 2 reflash, then added the TMIC. You'll see more gains from exhaust on a stock car then you will from a TMIC.

There are a lot of very nice, high-quality top mounts available for thw WRX. However, they are pretty much unnecessary. We don't really even recommend the Vishnu top mount except to Stage II customers who are maxing out their VF30/34 on the stock IC. We get cars putting 240 hp to the wheels on the stock IC all the time. Keep yours until you get to that poitn too, or you are running race gas at the edge of what your turbo will support.

Ok..COOL!! Thanks for the help. It seems that the stock TMIC flows well enough and people have been sticking with them. I was planning on going for the Thermal R&D 3" cat-back, intake, Perrin Intercooler Hose, Perrin Up-Pipe, TiAL BOV (if no fitment issues) or Turbo XS, and of course... boost controller. Since Turbo XS is located near me I will check out there Hyperflow TMIC.
