Which up pipe should I buy
I was thinking of buying a Perrin up-pipe. I have a 3"T-Back made by Top Secret w/ drop in filter. does the Perrin come w/the bung? If not what up-pipe should I look into. Thanks everybody and Peace Miguel

Whats wrong with the perrin or PDE up-pipes I dont mind paying $250.00 if it is worth it I dont want to buy another one later. So with that said which others. thanks again
dont quote me on this, but from what i gathered is that all uppipes function the same. it replaces the cat, and helps with quicker spooling. i guess if you have the money go for the perrin, or pde, but im a poor college student, so i had to go for something cheaper.
but its very worth it. much quicker spool time.

yeah, making sure you install it correctly makes 10 times more difference than who made the pipe. all pipes listed above will work well if installed correctly.

Go with any uppipe that has a flex joint. They will flex with the motor, during hard acceleration, and are almost guaranteed to NOT leak. And as an added bonus, if you go with the JDM STI uppipe, which also has a flex joint, you will also be able to smog your car with it still installed. Other uppipes will have to be taken out , and the stock uppipe will have to be re-installed, in order to pass visual inspection.
Here is some statistics and a lot of good useful information we have written at clubWRX.net:

I would be suprised if the smog tech let you get away with the Jet Hot Coated JDM-uppipe. It's so obvious that it's not stock.
Anyway...just gut your stock uppipe, and save the $150-250 bucks for something fun...

Well, if you don't mind spending the money, check out the APS piece at the bottom of this page: http://quantum-racing.com/shopsite_s...l/Exhaust.html
mexicanpizza, you should know that a gutted stocker has all kinds of rough spots to mess up the flow properties of exhaust gas. and BTW most smog techs are either partially to extremely braindead or are brain donors.

Hey Miguel, whats up man? Have not seen you in awhile. Hey I have the Perrin uppie, installed at MPJ. Which did an awesome job with no leaks and took me with no appointment. Maybe I will stop by Best Buy and say hey. Well talk to you later man

Hey if you want to waste your money on a $150+ piece of 12" pipe, when Subaru gave you a perfectly good one...be my guest

I don't have unlimited funds, nor do I like to "buy into the hype"...so I went with a gutted stocker.

So you were able to get the inside of the pipe free from rapid changes in diameter?
i wonder what the difference would be on a smog machine between the stocker and the gutted stocker. i wonder if you could even tell once the car is warmed up.
