Hp Gain w/up-pipe. down pipe?

Looking for data. I have a cat back system now and I'm looking to upgrade the rest of the exaust. Is there noticable gains by going with the up-pipe downpipe instalations? What kind of gains would be expected? Is this installation useless w/out computer reflash? Beside CEL problems, any other electronic systems comprimised? I have little cash to upgrade and need to make an informative descision. Thanks

If you do an uppipe/downpipe install, you will definitely notice gains. You don't necessarily need a reflash if you're strapped for cash. I just had an uppipe/downpipe installed and have no problems except for a whistle, but that is mostly likely due to me using the stock catback. Do it and enjoy.

the cel problems are easily fixed. you will definatly notice power gains, and also a volume gain.

Is it supposedly to be loud though, I mean I can hear it even with the radio on and it sounds as though it's coming from where the DP and the catback are bolted together. It usually starts at around 2k rpm and it's already noticeable.

That's the conclusion that we came up with, that the stock catback didn't mate up to the helix downpipe too well. Could be wrong though.
