help please, valvetrain? I have no idea
I was coming back from JMU a few weeks ago and after I put a tank of fuel in about 10min later after running it on 81 the CEL started flashing now i have utec and when that happens it is knocking, so I replaced the stock fuel pump, drained the bad fuel and put fuel in i know is good, and it is still doing it, not to mention there is a god awful clater ( sounds like metal against metal) so we decided to take the intake manifold off and see if it was a valve, all the valves seem in perfect shape BUT... the gasket under the manifold on the left side (passenger side) was all rusted around the number 3 cylinder now I know that the number 3 cylinders have problems but I have an 05 with 30K on the clock and I dont think it would lean out this early please anyone offer a suggestion, and yes my car has been blacklisted at my local dealership ( they will not under any condition service it)

i had somewhat of the same thing. it sounded like a tapping under the intake but it was actually the rod that was bad. hope this didn't happen to you.
