Why on earth would you run a modified car on the factory map?
What is the code that's triggering the CEL?

On my car the o2 sensor is not even plugged in. there is a capacitor you can buy from radio shack. I am not sure what voltage it is but you plug it into the computer side of the connector for the 02 sensor and put some tape over it. This is what works on my 05 wrx. NOTE: your o2 sensor will probably need to be replaced if you run this setup for too long.

i took it to local shop and they pulled the code ... it says that EGT sensor Bank current High. And i just replaced EGT sensor like last year. And there is no problem with the car itself .... engine runs fine .... stoichometric ratio ... no weird smell from the engine.

Gruppe-S carries both fixes but lists the mechanical fix as being for 2005+ models, and I can't tell from your avatar what year you have but it looks like an 02-03). The electrical fix isn't that hard to do, you just have to unplug the rear o2 sensor, cut the wires, and solder it in. If you're not good at soldering I would have someone that is good do it for you.
Have an 01, with the P0420 code, and I'd like to perform this fix. Electrical - cut the wires and solder the wires together? Directions are not clear. Of course I'm reinstalling the O2 to plug the hole only now it's not connected to anything. Please clarify this fix. The mechanical spacer part I understand - any differences in thread sizes between years?

Nevermind, I've since learned I cannot do the electrical fix since NJ conducts the OBDII readiness test and that fix will cause the car to fail

The EGT probe fails in a catless uppipe. Get a 2.2k resistor and plug it in the connector where the EGT probe plugs in.
