i just got a check engine light with a flashing cruise control light? i own a 2006 impreza 2.5 sedan the car lost power for a split second and now it drives fine. any ideas?

 

You have to get the car scanned to find out what diagnostic code has been set. The cruise light will flash and the cruise will be disabled when the check engine light comes on, this happens with all the drive-by-wire cars.
In most states Autozone does free scans, but since you are in CA you'll have to do somewhere else as they don't do it there. Find a nearby shop or a local member (try asking in your regional forum) with a scanner.
Once you have the Pxxxx code that was set, you can perform the appropriate diagnostics to find and correct the problem.
