Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

GFB stelath fx bov setting question. havin' a problem with venting in 2nd gear

I currently have the stealth fx set at 100% vent to astmosphere. Everytime when I give it like 50-100% throttle in second gear and release throttle in the 3500-6000 rpm range, the bov sort of stumbles and hesitates to vent. It takes around a full second for the bov to vent after i release throttle, instead of venting immediately after. Is there a remedy for this? This only happens in second gear normally. What settings do I have to toy with? thanks!

How old is it? I have heard that during the winter you might need to oil it every month. There is a thread here. do a search for the bov's.

I heard that you need to clean it, and spray some lubricant, like WD-40 or such, whenever you're having problems with it sticking like that.

After you re-oil it try adjusting the spring on the top because that controls the speed of venting. If you've lost your instructions email GFB and get some new ones.

I used to have the same problem with my GFB 50/50 BOV, however with a little regreasing (Mobil 1 Synthetic Grease), it was good as new, and blew off every time for me... Give it a shot, what's the worst that can happen?
