Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

FMIC question

I was thinking of putting a FMIC on my 03 WRX. so far all I have is an HKS catback and K&N drop in filter. the downpipe and uppipe should be on pretty soon, I was just wondering if the FMIC would do anything (performance wise) without running more boost than stock, or would it be a wiser investment getting a UTEC from Turbo XS??? all feedback is greatly appreciated.

The stock intercooler will do just fine with your setup. Get engine managment, it will get you much greater gains with the mods you have then a FMIC would.

performance wise...yes, it would be better to get the UTEC. the bigger FMIC w/o a bigger turbo will just add lag up into the 4's. i would wait until i was adding a bigger turbo before i added a FMIC, just my opinion though.
