What is the resonator? If I got a TBE from Turbo XS w/ their RFL-TI muffler would I still have the resonator?

If I currently have the stock exhaust can I just remove the resonator so that it's a little louder until I get my tbe from txs?

Thanks,
-Nigel

No resonator on the TurboXS. The RFL-TI is a straight-thru canister type muffler. You cannot remove only the resonator on your stock exhaust unless you take a torch to it, or remove the cat back. TurboXS will bolt to the stock exhaust. I ran only the TXS Axle back, before doing the full TB.

Very cool, I did not know that! So then the resonator is part of the stock muffler then right?

Thanks :-)

Does it look like this?

i say if you want a mellow quieter exhaust with a good increase in power go for the borla hush system they are very nice i have seen a bunch installed at mpj and they sound awesome inside the show and they dont tend to sound to rumbly or annoying. Just right sounding.. hard to explain realy.. im sure someone on the boards can attest to this.

thanks for all the advise, the only reason i was thinking of going to dual tip is so i wont get pulled over by the cops and have them pop my hood but then someone on this board said that the cops look for things that would be in fast and the furious like big wings and such so now i dont care to much about the exhaust, and i love sound i dont think there is something too loud for me,i used to drive around in a 70' chevelle with only headers nothing else.. so... i dont know when i will be buying but i for some reason really like the Invidia turbo back so thats an option or maybe the TXS one. thanks again
