Clunking Noise :(
Can any one help me ... i got a clunking noise coming from the driver side from underbody of the car. It comes 50+ mph when I am in 4th or 5th gear and RPM is about 2500-3000 and now when am in neutral also just cruising to a stop it starts to come again and stops when I am completely stopped at a RED light ... Its like tick tick tick ..... and it comes and stays for about 10 seconds and goes away and then comes back again after 1 minute or so. I think it could be my exhaust is hitting something

I first thought if could be a broken CV boot/axle...those make the tick, tick, tick noise as you are moving (like a baseball card in a bike spoke) but a broken CV boot wont make any noise completely stopped (Ive had 2 broken CV boots).
Good luck.

^^ hmmmm could be that also ..... i checked my exhaust and it was kind of rubbing against the underbody of the car. and thought that would solve the problem but the sound still comes and just gets louder as i move faster
i will check the CV boot/axle also 2morrow see if dey need to be changed. Thx for the advice bro .... appreciate it

If its exhaust rubbing just get longer stiffer exhaust hangers. I had a problem with my exhaust rubbing like crazy especially when going over bumps and take turns. It was awful, Changed ALL the hangers and it fixed the problem. Good Luck with yours.
Could be the exhaust from CBE touching somewhere but the most common clunking noise I've heard about that comes from the exhaust is from the DP hitting the underbody or the trans. The gap between the two may be just close enough that at an idle when the a/c compressor cycles or when driving the motor torques under load just enough to get those parts to touch. Once you get the car up in the air it should be fairly easy to tell if it is in fact the exhaust.

^^ thx for the replies guys ..... i got it ...... the problem was my both front wheel bearing wearing out and my driver side front wheel hub had play in it. When the car was lifted in air ..... the tire/rim was moving side to side. i am glad that i replaced the hub and bearings ...... didn't broke anything. but had to pay lot of money
