ceramic coating
ceramic coating
Not too long ago I bought a upppipe of eBay. In my haste I didn't read the description as carefully as I should had. To make a long storey short I ended up with a pipe from Top Speed Auto out of Texas. Just your basic 304 pipe with bung. The upside is that it was cheap at $80 and the welds looked nice. But I wasn't satisfied so I found a great speed shop in the Portland area to have it ceramic thermal coated. I know some guys use Jet Hot but I'm way too impatient to send it to Mississippi or wherever the located. Any way RM Engineering/Finish Line Coating is right here and the NW. It's run by the old dude Russ Meeks and the place looks like a shack but one your inside it is Hot Rod all the way! This guy has buids 1,000+ HP motors like it's going out of style. Old School.
He charged me $25 for 2000F coating. It comes in black but oother colrs are available. He also quoted me $165 for my headers so you know I'm going to have to get those done too. I'm now obsessed with heat management. I would love to coating as much of the exhaust and the turbo on get rid of some of thos e steel heat shields. Check him out www.finishlinecoatings.com

Make sure you don't thermal coat the exhuast after the turbo
Thermal expansion is what gives that turbo the most power.
just my .02
