CEL after Exhaust ?
Hi guys, im new to the whole subie thing, but My brother picked up an exhaust yesterday for his 02 wrx wagon that gets rid of the cat. I figure the o2 cel will come on right? If so, is there a way to simply fix it? and if so How? I used the search function but didnt find anything. Thanks

He got a down pipe? If so it should have a bung that pulls the sensor farther out from the exhaust flow. Does he have an AP or a way to get it tuned? Should probably consider this.

no tuner, but he bought this exhaust https://www.i-club.com/forums/norcal-classifieds-96/fs-ft-custom-full-3-cbe-w-vibrant-stealth-tt-muffler-219890/
looks like that's just a catback, which doesn't remove cats so a cel won't be a problem. when/if he buys a downpipe he will need a to wire in a resistor to the rear 02 sensor (screws into downpipe they sell them-"cel fix" or something) or get an extension for the bung to move the sensor further away from the increased flow. Or I believe the accessport/tuning can get rid of this as well?
when i changed my downpipe to my titek catless downpipe i had to buy the cell fix (13-15 dollars). The cell fix worked and didnt made me throw any lights but when i stepped on the gas hard on 4th gear going to 5th the engine light and my cruise control light turned on. I purchased an AP then boom problem solved. I don't know why your check engine light went on with just a catback.
