It is possible to pass CA sniffer test with one high-flow cat in the downpipe or with just the 3rd cat. The numbers are dirtier compared with running two or three. The WRX owner who reported his car passing was not using a Prodrive exhaust. Better make sure your cat(s) are really warmed up by driving it, then leaving the engine running just before the test.

If you just need to pass the sniffer test buy some fuelon power gas additive, www.fuelon.com/fuelonpower.html. I've known of people in Virginia passing sniffer tests using this stuff with "no cats at all".

I am so lucky living in Indiana. No smog tests. The only way you can get clipped is if you get a noise ticket and the cop looks under the car. My 04 is stock height and it is still too low to look under. Besides they don't want to get their uniforms dirty. I would trade you for the weather though.

You may pass sniff, you'll likely fail visual. That is, unless your smog tech is also a good friend
