Question CA emissions/smog test with catless uppipe?

Has anyone here ever tried to pass an emissions test using a catless uppipe? From what I've read it's hard to see the uppipe and thus notice if it's been replaced b/c of its position and its heatshield. I also heard the cat is mainly functioning during cold starts and that's not tested? I know that it's a pain to replace thus I was wondering if anyone has actually tried passing with one installed. Thanks, oh and I tried searching but to no avail.

No, I meant those are reasons why an aftermarket uppipe could not be as easily detected. The cold start thing because they don't test that during emissions tests, and its much harder to notice the uppipe during the visual inspection as opposed to lets say a catless downpipe or even a catted aftermarket downpipe. But good to know you passed with the uppipe. Sorry about the confusion.

anyone think header wrap will fool the visual inspectors on stuff such as a downpipe if it passes sniffer?

No way, they are keen. I had to lie through my teeth to get them to believe that my turbo was stock. A truly scary situation! Everything was stoce except for the Turbo and injectors. She passed, but they were really hounding me about a CEL (They did allow me to reset the ECU in order to pass.) and the aftermarket turbo!

Don't fock with the Smoggies! They have the power of God himself in this state!

It's the focking red badge on the side of the mother that gave it away. Any VF will pass visual. Pretty much any turbo w/ plain housing will pass visual. The thing I'll hate will be having to take the fmic off and put the stock exhaust on to smog. But I bet I could pass cleaner than stock if they let me play around with my ECU on the bugger, Lag the turbo out like hell, and run it lean as fock-no load camon! Be fun-It would be my smog map-haha-Go to the station hot, load the map in the parking lot
