Either convert your **** back to stock when it's time, or slip the tester a C-note. CEL's can be fixed with either a UTEC or the easy to do CEL fixes that come with the up/downpipes.

It helps to have a friend in the inspection business. But otherwise, I will just put the stock DP back on when it comes time. I have heard of a few people getting away with up pipes because they are burried so well.

With aftermarket cats, you likely will not pass the visual inspection which is an integral part of the bi-annual CA smog inspection. You're not allowed to swap the factory cats for anything else unless your car meets certain requirements (high mileage, certification from a garage stating that the OEM cats had failed, etc.).

what ww said....

it takes like 30 minutes to swap ou the stock exhuast for the aftermarket one. i wouldn't even go NEAR a smog test with non stock mods on. you are asking for big fines and a huge headache.

I have an uppipe and downpipe. I also just moved here from Texas. From what I've read, I've decided to put the stock dp back in so that I can pass emissions, but from what I'm seeing here it sounds like nobody has the uppipe in either... Can I make it OK with an aftermarket uppipe?

You will probably pass the sniffer, but not the visual.

Depends, alot of "smog stop" places dont do much of a visual... They probably wont look at the uppipe. A ref for sure will.

What is a ref? Will I have to deal with a ref to get registered in CA?
