Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Question Boost Levels

Just wondering if someone could tell me what the boost levels are for a stock WRX in each gear and at what RPM's. For example, 1st gears max boost would hit X psi at X rpm's and 2nd gears boost would hit X psi at X rpm's.
the problem is that i dont really push the car that much but when i do, i dont think i really see the boost gauge hit 1 bar. kinda getting me worried. all i have is an UP, DP, and catback. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

There are several factors that could change the answer to your question (engine load, altitude, etc). It's not simply X psi @ X rpm's in X gear. With that said, (speaking loosely of max boost) I've seen some folks claim that they never could reach 13+ PSI in 1st and 2nd gear, while other WRX owners claim they could (myself included). I don't know what effects your mods would have on the levels. Hopefully someone with more insight will chime in.

i forgot about the whole altitude thing. well... i just looked it up and the elevation where im at here is 585 feet above sea level. now, i hope that this is suppose to be a good level to be at for optimal boost.

The problem is that i would hit about .7 or .8 bar and then drop down to about .5 or .6 bar and remain there. if no one has any suggestions, can some one provide me a pic of their turbo hoses just so that i can compare with someone elses whos boost level is normal? thanks again.

hmmm... does peak boost hold for a while or does it just taper off? if it tapers off... can someone tell me when it begins to drop?
