boost gauge misread? or is this a correct reading? please help.

i just had some autometer c2 gauges installed well my question is that when i put the pedal to the floor in 3rd gear throw 5th my gauge will climb to say that pushing about 25 - 27 psi. is that correct? i have a stock turbo, i thought stock psi for wrx is about 13.5? am i getting a miss read?

05 wrx.

What is the gauge reading when you are at idle? It should be a negative number...At full boost you should get 13.5 psi.

What units is the gauge reading in? A normal gauge would be in psig...which is gauge pressure. If it is reading in psia it could be correct. Psia is atmospheric pressure...so basically it is psig + 14.7psi. To convert you would need to subtract all your readings by 14.7.

i couldnt find any t fittings. but i did see this which wasnt there before. it seems to go where the vacum hose of the by pass valve go to. you see what i am talking about? those 2 hoses with silver connecters. and then the regular hose below that. and that metal attachment that they are connect to.

Well...those lines with the silver fittings are fuel lines. I'm not sure what those fittings are for...

The boost gauge vacuum line should be tied into the vacuum line coming out of the by pass valve that you took a picture of. The installer must have tied it into another vacuum line some place else.

The line for the boost gauge should be coming out of the firewall right behind the intercooler. Take a look and try to trace it back to where they installed it.
