Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

wrxdude - What year is your car? Are you running stage one or stage two maps?

I'm looking for a 2004 WRX running COBB stage one in NorCal without any pinging problems.
I want to feel a little more comfortable that others in NorCal are running Accessport stage one problem free, before I pick one up.

Hey subynewby,
I'm running a VF34 91 octane map. I have not experience any pinging at all. I't's boosting at ~19 PSI with the 3/16 restrictor mod (16 PSI with the oem) and
a TXS TMIC ver. 2
Acceleration is very smooth and boost holds and very stable at 19 PSI (no spikes at all). I haven't dyno the car yet so I can't give you an estimate but it's good enough for my application. I can't wait till cobb comes out with the accessport tuner so S-squared or maybe I-Speed can start tuning these babies for custom maps.

Why stage one? do you have uppipe and TBE? I suggest getting them first before Accessport.

I was thinking of getting the uppipe and Accessport together. The TBE is a little expensive so I was going to wait on that. As the name implys; I'm new to this and very open to any recomendations you have for a first mod. My 04 WRX is a daily driver and I don't need 400hp or a super harsh ride, however I'm definitly willing to spend some time and money to improve both handling and power. I would like to add about 30-40 whp.
