02 wrx have a speed limiter?

Car and Driver has the 04 listed with a 130 top speed, electronically limited.

I got mine to 155 on my blitz power meter without hitting any limiter.I believe it doesn't have a limiter,no fuel cut either.With fcd of course,@ about 17psi

the top speed for the 04 rex manual would be higher (150?) if there was no electronical limiter because its more aerodynamic than the 01(00?)-03

I just got my wrx this week. So this is on a bone stock car. I was running it through the gears on a nice section of road on the way to my parents house. When in fourth gear at around 120 mph the car seemed to stop accelerating and a horn sound went off. I am wondering what caused this to happen. has it happened to anyone else? Surely i can be the only one.
Btw- just got done adding a 3" Busher turbo back exhaust, that I picked up used this weekend from a fellow suby guy. Great diffence in acceleration from a stop and improved top end. I will get used to the extra noise eventually.

i heard the same sound when i first got my car, and asked the same ? so did others so your not alone.. it seems that this happens when the cars new some say its the tranny or gears as there still new but no one knows for sure..... but dont worry it goes away mine did and so did everyone eles i talk about it too..... its more like a huming noise...

i was racing a A4 (he started it, i finished it

) on the freeway when i first heard the sound (110+).... yeah he was faster at top end but, i was able to keep him behind me with my traffic dodging skills

AFAIK all of the manuals are not limited. I have had my car up to 135 on the track. From what I remember the autos are limited.

Don't race anyone at 100+ while there are other people around. I would wish bad things for you if you killed someone. This weekend some jack off went flying past me on the shoulder doing over 100. I thought really hard about chasing him down and calling the cops with his plate number. I do speed a little bit when it is clear but not like this guy. Someone could do the same with you.
