ribbon cable with button pad - what?

Hey guys, I just got a '02 WRX wagon today.. woohooo!!! Anyway it has the old COBB clubspec package with the unichip. I found this cable hangin out where the underdash fusebox is. Anyone know what it is? The white button looks like a water droplet symbol?

Ahhh. thanks alot traction! You know if they came factory, or were an option? If they weren't I think I know why the tach pointer is sticking now
