Mile Per Limiter on Automatic

Does anyone know how to do away with the mile per hour cut on the automatics? Does the manual have a mile per hour cut as well? I was doing 125 early the other morning when all of the sudden it had wasn't gasing. I tried again and it did the same thing at about 130. I found out it has a govenor. Is there a easy way to get ride of that?

i believe you can get an EcuTek reflash to change the speed limiter.

Do you have a need to go faster than 130 or just a morbid curiosity?

Do any of you race SCCA at all? You would know that some tracks you can get well over 130. I wouldn't have a chance on the track. So don't give me any $%*( about trying to get a higher mile per hour!

calm down man, it's just the internet. I don't have a problem with someone driving over 130mph on a RACETRACK, in fact, I think that's the best place to go fast. I 100% support and believe in SCCA and open track days. hell, i even told ya how to ger rid of that speed limiter in my first reply.

what I am giving you $%*t about is your comment:

if i was ever involved in an accident with someone going 130mph, I would take that person to court and sue their asses for negligence faster than they could blink.

I don't think manuals have speed limiters. Back when all I had was intake and a catback, I hit at least 145-150.

i don't think the manuals do either. the automatic's have all sorts of limiters in the Tranny computer that are put in place to preserve the transmission.
