Stage 2 91oct Hwg

Ok, i have had my AP por about a month now. My base map is Stage2 91 oct and i have the same realtime map. After the inital exitement i have noticed a drop in power. I think the ecu has learned. Yesterday i plugged in the Ap and checked live boost readings. I have a stck boost gague but it is hard to read when i'm driving hard, plus i can't seem to do the calculations in my head. Anyways, my suspisions were confirmed. At wot in 1st i maybe hit 10 psi, 2nd gear was better about 12 psi, 3rd hit 14, and wot in 4th hit target boost at 15.8-16.3. Needless to say i ran out of road at this point. I made a couple more passes and i found the same thing. also the boost just didn't come on as strong as it had initially. I sat for a minute and then i reloaded my stage 2 realtime map. I made about 10 passes and my results were about the same. The boost did come on a little better but the same boost readings. I was confused. I went home and jumped on here and Cobbs site to try and find out what was going on. I read about the waste gate actuator and that seemed logical although i didn't really care about the Flutter. I then saw a thread at Cobb's site that Trey Cobb put up that said "Stage 2 Not hitting target boost". I read this thread and it sounded like me. They made a new MAP for this. It is called the Stage2 Hwg. I was apprehensive abou this because the map says use at your own risk. I read the thread and i decided i could always go back after some test runs. So i loaded it. It was fantastic. After some initial 16.6 psi spike it settled down. It is strong all the way to redline. I was right on target for all gears. 15.8 psi in all gears at wot. It was sweet. I am still testing to see if it's ok. This is how stage 2 should feel. It is a huge difference from the regular stage 2. Also i noticed that the wastegate flutter at low to mid rpms is gone. I thing that the slight adjustment of the wastegate duty cycle that Cobb put in mage a world of difference. I am sorry about the long post but i had to to expalin what was going on. If you are having this trouble, try that new map. If you have the time and the gas $$ its worth it. I would like to say thanks to Cobb as well. They made a good product and they are standing by it. FYI, i have an 04' Stromung TBE no cats. Good luck!

Always good to hear when people get their problems all sorted out with no problems. Since I hope to do the same thing with my WRX, I will keep this in mind.
