The E85 facts state problems you may run into but more likely not. There are many many people running E85 and I've seen amazing result in power from just switching. It all however depends on the tune.

I put in 3.5 gallons of E85 tonight in with the rest of the tank being 91 octane. Effective octane is about 94 , so I loaded the Cobb OTS Stage 2 93 octane map

It feels the same as a full 93 tank or blending 100 Octane race gas in the same proportion listed above. EXCEPT...the E85 cost about 1/3 what the 100oct does!

I hear that for big power gains on a Subaru it is just not possible. You need 1000cc injectors and they dont make them yet in the correct impodence for subaru. Th evo tuner at GST is pretty awesome at e-85 with the evo's so you wold think if it were possible Mike would be doing it but he's not.
I was told it was simply a matter of not being able to have big enough injectors all else shoul work fine.
For the guy ^^ above. mixing the fuels is bad joo joo. it has a higher octane rating but at significantly higher volume, so you may lean out if you do this. I would not reccomend.

Oh I'm doing it already just not on the OEM ECU with high impedance injectors. There are ways round the injectors and we're working it out right now.

The injector size directly relates obviously to the turbo size, folks with 49lbs turbo's and smaller are fine with 1,000cc injectors which you can obtain in high impedance. For those of you with larger turbo's your going to need more fuel than what is currently available out there injector wise.

Thanks for the clarification. I bought my flex fuel badge already so would hate to have the $18 go to waste. Can you do this on an accessport? or do you need a stand alone? Thanks for the update im sure alot of guys here will be interested.

I just spoke with the guys at Change2E85.com and they say they have a Subaru Boxer engine kit (longer leads to the injectors) and many happy customers with it. They also say that the fuel system "problems" from e85 are a myth... Of course they have a biased opinion, but I would think that they'd learn from experience on all the cars they've sold kits for.

I guess I'll keep looking around for who've tried these... I'm just looking to try it on my stock '03 WRX. They have a testimonial posted from an Outback owner, FWIW.

[note: they can't ship to CA due to CARB. You could always find a way around this...]

Wow its been awhile on this post and e-85 has come a long way here in cali. DW has released a 1000cc top feed high impedance injector and injector dynamics has a good top feed as well. There are a few people on here running this and a lot of people on nasioc. I say do it take mikes advise above. I am going to run an e85 map and a 91 map so I can switch depending on what fuel I'm running and yes this will be through my AP tuned at GST

I would get the T1 injectors over anything else mate, you can run them hard with pressure which the DW wont work with. For Low Impedance folks just go RC and be done with it.

Just my 2c
