Any diesel -> '98 legacy, or Ethanol conversion?
Hello,
Has anyone heard of or experienced the swap of a comparably-powered diesel powerplant into legacies of the '95-'99 era (or for that matter any sube?)
Diesel is looking like a more and more attractive fuel as petroleum prices continue to climb. Petro-derived diesel will of course go up with the rest of the oil economy, but I think biodiesel is poised to move in as a more economical (and environmentally benign) source of energy for internal combustion.
Ethanol is also attractive, but its substitution into gasoline engines seems to require rather extensive fuel system modifications. Diesels burn biodiesel without problems, and it's also relatively simple to produce, chemically speaking.
Any info or anectdotes will be greatly appreciated >=..=<
