Ethenol bad???

Due to the rapid price hike in gas prices, regulations has forced gas pumps to substitute 10% of the regular unleaded fuels with Ethenol (alcohol).
I supect this to be the reason for my engine check light to have suddently take a permanent residence on my list of "Idiot Light Cluster"/ The only other time I've even seen it in the last 92k miles was I thought I would try some super unleaded, or when the pump dude didn't tighten the fill cap all the way in.
Could it be coincidence?

Probably coincidence. Your car is designed to run properly on up to 10% ethanol in the fuel, any more than that may cause problems. Here in NY we've had the 10% blend for a couple of years now since MTBE was phased out as an oxygenating additive and ethanol was substituted. That same change is now occurring everywhere, it's not because of prices.
To find out why your check engine light is on, you need to get the car scanned so the code can be read. Autozone does this for free in all states besides CA so you can go there, or you can post in your regional forum and try to find someone nearby who has a scanner. Once you get the code, in Pxxxx format, you can post it here for further assistance.

Thanks Mulder. I didn't know that I could ask for a read out.
I've been busy the last couple of days. I still need to get in touch with SOA's complain Dep.

Sorry for the delay...

It's been a busy period for me, but I finally made it to Auto Zone and took advantage of their free of charge E-Diagnostic service. They were able to conclude that the Oxygen sensor is indeed faulty. There are two of them, one is near the catalytic converter, the other is on the manifold, the latter being the one I ordered from the for $70+ (Denso brand). The Boch was going to cost over $140+.

I would not rely on Autozone's diagnostic advice. That is why I said you need to post the actual code, which is what I still suggest. Maybe the sensor is bad, but OTOH you may replace it and find out that the code still comes back.

Actually, Ethanol is a more expensive additive than MTBE. MTBE was a by-product of the refining process whereas ethanol has to be brought in. MTBE is being phased out due to severe ground water contamination.

You are so on the money.
After I ordered the oxygen sensor, I opted for my local wrecher to help.
As it turned out, AutoZone was indeed wrong diagnosing/reading the problem. It actually turned to be the knock sensor.
Note: Our cars (Subies) are indeed very sensitive to what goes in the tank. This is according to Rick, aka; The wrencher.
