Which is better, Xede or Cobb AP stage 2 for the STI?

Someone is offering me an used Xede for my STI for 400, although i was trying to compart between whether to get AP stage 2 or xede. All i know is that the used Xede is 400 and AP is 645. I know the price for xede sounds good, but is the power gains better that the AP stage 2? Need input asap.

thanks,
jason

I had an xede, there's only one guy to tune it and that's Shiv at Vishnu. I would go for something that everybody can tune, and that's either a ecutek or a utec. AP is pretty good too. If you just want to set it and forget it get the ecutek, contact gruppe-s, they're a great vendor and they're pretty close to you.

If I lived where you did, I would just drive to Vishnu to get a tune. Anyway, Shiv flew down to TX and I had him tune my ride on the dyno w/ the V-370 flash (ecutek). I was extremely happy with the results. 05 STi btw. Most people around here use the AP for convenience.

ap

I have an 05 rex and I'm running an AP with Cali map stage 2. From the sheer convienence factor I say go accessport. You should be able to pick up a used ap on the boards in the 450 range if you're a little patient. I like the ap because it's very easy to switch between maps, uninstall if I need to take my ride to the dealer for some reason, and reinstall so they have no idea I was running fuel maps. I'm still putting down good power with my set up (around 300) It's about what you want though. If you don't mind getting your car tuned each time you change/upgrade parts , and to squeek every bit of hp out of your car nothing beats custom tuning. Good luck with your decision.

I have an 04 STI with Stage 2 COBB AP and I noticed a big difference just going from stage 2 91oct to stage 2 93 oct. I am boosting around 23psi which can be considered bad I guess for the stock turbo and I started spiking so I am going to try the LWG map to see what difference the boost is.

You can tune the XEDE...that's the whole point of having it over a reflash. If you have the XEDE module, you can download the tools from XEDE direct or from Vishnu:

"XMAP Full-Functional Tuning Software (.zip file)
Allows user to create new, or modify existing, XEDE tuning maps. Only recommended for those who want to tune and understand the consequences of improper engine management calibration."
