04 wrx ticking niose
I have just bought what i thought to be a good 04 wrx from the insurance auction near me. I have had someone working on my car and the day he got it started up he called my parents and told them there was a ticking niose from the engine, and it is most likely a bent valve or something, but he isn't sure. What other problems usaully happens along the lines of this, and would getting a new engine be the best route? I am taking it to a friend of mine at the dealership pretty soon, but in the mean time I ask you guys and gals. I'll keep everything updated. (I know this is broad, but I need to know if any other people have experienced something like this and what they did)

yup I've experienced it, and it was not a good experience... as Paul mentioned rod knock could be the ticking, as for the sound from my motor was indeed rod knock.. it sucked!! good luck, definitely get it taken care of soon. i would take it to a performance shop somewhere along the lines of EQ tuning or dbtuned, if you have the stealership i mean dealership rebuild the motor, you might just run into the same problem in the future.. I now have a rebuilt motor from EQ tuning and i love it...

Ok so since i bought this from an insurance auction salvaged due to theft, I am guessing there is no factory warrenty or anything for my car anymore. There is usaully a, from what i hear, powertrain warrenty, and that will cover what I think I am going through. The forum below is what I am refering to for the warrenty.

I'm not sure if/how warranty applies to salvage title cars, but it would be worth a shot if you're within the mileage constraints. If not, give us a call or stop by and we'll be happy to check things out and give you a better idea of what's wrong.
Thanks

Dang, that sucks that there isn't any warrenty, but I really didn't expect there to be one. I should be getting a call from the dealership pretty soon, so I'll let you guys know.

Welp he took it to two shops, not the dealership, and they said they couldn't tell what it was unless they took it apart, so i'm probably going to spend another 250 bucks to diagnose it, then we will see.
