02 ecu compatible w/ 03 wrx?

02 ecu compatible w/ 03 wrx?

Hey I wanted to ask a quick question which I'm sure one of you BAIC know.... Can I use an ecu taken off a 02 wrx and put it on my 03? TIA

Make sure the ecu you are putting in was wired to the same type of tranny as you have...I think.

so auto goes with auto and 5mt with a 5mt?

Yes they work but if you put a MY03 ECU into a MY02, it will throw a code but not vise versa...hope that helps.

even if the my03 ecu has been reflashed with ecutek it will throw a cel on a my02???

weird...

I have run a stock 02 or 03 (don't know which one) ECU on my 04 with uppipe/downpipe and didn't throw a cel. :x

i think it only throw a cel if u put a newer year ecu than ur car is...? i dont know thoe so in ur case an 06 ecu will give u a cel i think but i dont know for sure
