Maybe someone will start a poll on how they got their cars?

1) Momma
2) Daddy
3) I live at my parents, but paid for it myself
4) Paid for it myself and don't live with mommy and daddy

thanks deeznuts and joeschmoe, you both are very thoughtful.

yes i am admitting i am spoiled compared to the ghettos, but for the most part i am just well off in t he society i live in compared to my rich friends and rich neighborhood. compared to them, im just normal because, my friends parents bought them, a new m3. a new evolution, 2000 type R which costed $30,000. basically my car is much cheaper than theres but i goto say, id rather have a WRX than a type R =).

you dont understand my point scoob, im saying is my parents arent going to spoil me even more by buying me a $34,000 STi.

and yes i am worthy of a WRX because its affordable. and i LOVE cars.

If you ask me, you're lucky that your parents are buying you a new car or just a car at that. When I was 16 I bought myself a 1991 Mitsubishi Mirage ($1800) and I had to bust my *** at the pizza place just to buy that. After I joined the Navy (at 17) and graduated from College (at 23) I was finally able to buy my REX and invest 10K+ into it. Before that all I had was a modified PT Cruiser (New) with about 250hp and old european cars when I lived in Italy. Even my brother who was spoiled only had my old Mirage ( which he destroyed) once i left home and joined the Navy. I hope you appreciate the fact that you are getting a sweet car for free. I'm sure you'll take good care of it. Just be careful and don't be going crazy...wouldn't want to see a fellow subyaholic get hurt.

Okay I'm done. I sound like my father...scary!

DUDE,

I thought I was making hella bank, being able to afford 450 a month payments at age 19 but my friend @ SJSU works 12 hours a day and is getting pay 25 an hour pluys overtime, and he's saved up....

40,000 DOLLARS!!!
Yup, he's buying an S2000 straight up cash at age 18...
sheesh if I were him I'd do a down payment for a house and then rent it out 4life...

But anyway my point is that there ARE young people who are just damn hard workers who saved up enormous amounts of money so never cap on age as a factor in owning a car.

And o yeah, this "you're a spoiled brat" thing is like

white trash hating on rich folks for not living in a trailer.

If I was making 200 grand a year, I would be EMBARRASED to buy my kid an old beater. I mean, come on, this kid's probably from an upper middle class family at least making >100K a year.

Really, if you lived in an exclusive neighborhood where everyone was driving S classes, **** I'd be embarrased to buy a C class benz!

Just don't say "spoiled" b/c that word is relative. Say "Priviliged" because that's what he is.

PRIVILIGED (damn I can't spell that either lol...)

So what if us rich kids were born to rich parents? It's not our fault our parents worked hard for us to get fun toys (ie - a subaru). What are we supposed to do? Turn down a WRX so you jealous old people don't hate on us? This thread has thoroughly pissed me off. So, just to **** off you older more deserving people, I'm going to sell my WRX and ask for an STI, which I know my dad will gladly buy for me. See, my dad doesn't have much besides money to offer to me. He is always working and doesn't have much time to spend with me. The time he does spend with me he likes to see me as happy as possible so he will go on a drive with me in my rex or help me put some parts in it. Maybe I'm not learning responsibility from cars but I am learning a lot about cars that people my age usually wouldn't. If people are gonna hate me for having a WRX I'm leaving i-club because that's the exact opposite of what I came here to find.

edit: BTW, my dad was surprised that I wanted a WRX. He was ready to go to the bmw or audi dealership

Stephen, learn to read I never complained about the car I got. I actually thank him for it every day when he compliments me on how shiny and clean it is. I said I'm going to trade it in and get an STI just because I can and it makes all you haters even more mad. The 22,000 he spent on my car is jack sh*t for him. He can retire my whole 5 person family 3 times if he wanted to. My point is, if your parents have the money and it doesn't really mean anything to them then why not get a WRX. My car was the cheapest out of the 2 other kids by 15g's. I got a WRX because I knew it was a great car and it isn't horribly expensive. It is probably the best car you can get for that much money. People need to not be mad at the world just because they weren't as priviledged as kids. If you want to hate me for having a rich dad, f*ck you this is what he worked for. So his kids could have a more fun childhood than he did. He is happy knowing that his kids won't have to struggle. Maybe I won't be as responsible as all of you, but my goal in life isn't to be respobsible, it's to have fun.

i don't agree with the thread title

i am under 25 (23) and want to know why i don't deserve a sti.

i don't want one, but why can't i have one, i bought my 02 wrx

i graduated college with a bse in mechanical engineering and got a job and can afford a sti.

why do you think i can't have one?

i was rambling, hopefully it made sense
