well was out driving it today, i purposely put it into first at like 20 mph once or twice, went in fine.....came home tried putting it in first at like 5 and it grinded....weird wrx trans continues, as for busting a synchro i could care less, i get my "custom dog box" then, just want the gears to stay intact.......i also have like 50 auto x's on it as well as maybe 100 1/4 mile passes.....trans felt strong everytime, and i run mid 13's......
ONE question though, is it true that the trans case is the same subaru used for its 1.8 carb'd motors? whats the deal w/everyone breaking their trans, are they all ricers and dont know how to shift or is it that theyre just that weak, or have design flaws, or was a big bad batch made???

If you dont have a manual WRX, how can you say it has a weak tranny? You might, i dont know... do you?

If you beleive what others say...

I know the WRX M/T is weak because I've rebuilt them, changed plenty of broken ones out for friends and seen first had the wonderful engineering used by Subaru. Thats how I know they are weak. I posted a large amount of pics of the inside of the Subaru transmission on the other site. If you look at those pics you'd know what I'm talking about. The key with a A/T car is to not get it too hot by power braking the thing. Once the img option is working again I'll repost the pics of a M/T taken apart. Then you'll be able to see what I am referring to.
