Hey everyone im going to let everyone know about a little problem im having with my tranny and at the same time with my dealership. I just started getting a noise from my tranny recently. I brought the car to the dealership and did so with my after market parts in it. Subaru red flagged my car as I thought they would. So then I went ahead and took everything out of my engin and brought the car to another dealership. They fixed one of the problems under warrenty but did not fix the tranny. The dealership I brought it to second gave back the car and told me they were going to ask a subaru representative if they can have the ok to fix it due to the after market parts. After a couple of days they called me and told me that the representative told them to tell me to bring it back to my home dealership. Sounds fishy huh. Well the way I understand it the 02 model (WRX) has had tranny problems in the past and if you havent touched a part on the car and it goes bad subaru has to honor the warrenty and fix the problem. Im getting two different stories from two different dealerships. Tell me what does everyone think? Best thing i can say is if you have any problems with your car at all I would make sure what they tell you is 100% true. If that means you have to talk to Subaru of America then so be it.

 

For a dealership to deny warranty work because of aftermarket parts, they will have to prove that the aftermarket parts caused the problem. For instance they can't claim you damaged the trans because of an aftermarket intake. They will surely try and the younger you are the more they try to push it. Unfortunately you will probably have to b*tch and moan before they will understand that you aren't going away, but they will eventually cave.
