I just developed the same problem recently, it ticks in reverse with or without the clutch depressed. It ticks while rolling unless i take it out of gear. i don't know if the transmission is covered in the 60,000 mile powertrain warranty, i hope so. I'm going to have a dealership look at it.

 

Any word from the dealership on what part broke? I have the same problem.

 

sounds like it might be going out. it might be due to metal shavings thats messing with the reverse gear? have you check the fluid for metal shavings? normally when you have a lot or a good amount of shavings in the tranny, its time for a rebuild.

 

hahaha. this is a pretty old thread. sounds like the reverse gear went out. as stated, there is no syncro for reverse since it is a straight cut gear and will not pop out of reverse.
