Strange sound while revving.......

This is kinda like the "fluttering noise" post but mine is doing slightly different. Whenever I am sitting still, If I rev my engine to 3k rpm or more, I get this sound kinda like a BOV. It sounds like a quiet "ppfffffft". (kinda like air being blown thru a small, hollow opening.) It only does it when the tach starts to fall back down between 3k and 2800 rpms, and only in that rpm range. It started after I did the uppipe and snokus delete, so I thought ,initially, that it was the BOV I was hearing. (since everyone says you can hear it after the snorkus delete). However, now I'm starting to think different. I noticed the sound was coming from the right side of my car, right about where my turbo is. I had a friend rev it for me while I was listening under the hood, and it sounds like it is coming from the turbo area, under the heat shield. And, it doesn't sound like a bov at all up close. More like a very rapid, light ticking sound. So rapid that, if you take a step back, it sounds like the what I described above. Has anyone else had this problem. Is it the stock bov, and if so, why does it sound like its coming from under the turbo heat shield? Any help would be appreciated!

My set up is as follows:
Perrin intercooler piping
ZeroSports intake pipe (not a CAI)
Cobb Accessport Stage 1 93
Cusco front and rear strut tower braces
Factory, gutted uppipe
Snorkus delete
Magnaflow Muffler
3rd cat deleted during muffler install
Kartboy short shifter with bushings
(I have a Tsudo downpipe on its way so I can go to stage 2)

ticking sound comming from near the turbo sounds like an up-pipe, downpipe, or header leak.

I had the same problem about 8 months ago. Took it to Vishnu and they found out that two of the bolts holding my header on had fallen off. Do you notice the sound getting louder and worse when you hit boost during a load -i.e. when flooring the gas or climbing uphill?

Don't notice it at all while driving. Just when sitting still and revving.

is the external wastegate arm i believe. search for "wastegate flutter" or something like that and you'll be able to see how to tighten it so it won't tick so much.

I think the reason that it's noticeable to you is because the flutter is reverberating in your hollowed out tubes. i could be way off here, based on what i've heard it seems like this might be it.
