Question is this a sti short shifter?

i found this "sti short shifter" for sale at a reasonable price
it has 3000 miles on it and its a "sti short shifter"
my question is...is it a sti short shifter?
i can't really tell the difference and i don't wanna get ripped off.

Looks exactly like my stock RS shifter actually, although it may have geometry differences. The real difference between the STi shifter and stock WRX is in the linkages. There's an explanation on scoobymods.com of the exact differences.

There's an attached metal grommet for the reverse lock-out.

doesn't look like the sti short shifter (for a wrx that is) the sti ss for the wrx looks like this

No that's a stock shifter either for a WRX or RS not sure but it's not an STi shifter lever. Plus if you got the STi lever you really can't use it because the bend in the lever makes the rod that attaches it needed too. It has a little more room to fit the bend:

that is not a sti short shifter, it's just a regular aftermarket SHORTER LEVER "make you feel like distance is shorter in throws" shifter. =]
