I have a 07 wrx tr and i was goin to get a spt short throw shifter and was wondering if you could notice a differance and if it was worth it

 

it will be worth it if you make sure to cahnge the bushings as well.

 

any chance you know if you have to drop the tranny or not

 

No, you do it all from inside the car, its a relatively easy install thought it can be a pain. If your gonna do it, like the other guy said get some shifter bushings. They did more for my car than the shifter imo, best $30 I ever spent. h

That was the only instal guide I could find but only looked really quick, check out Nasioc of scoobymods, I'm sure there are tons out there.
