subaru extra s 75w-90 made my gear engagement alot smoother over the oem gear oil.

I have some leftover from a 5 gallon drum that I got for my gear oil change. I'm located in North San Jose. I believe you'll need 5 quarts, I can sell some of my leftover to you for $40 total if you bring your own container.

After a bunch of searching through threads on IWSTI.com I came to the conclusion that my problem was my kartboy short shifter. There are tons of threads about people having problems with them in STI's so I decided to switch back to the stock shifter. So with the stock shifter and all the kartboy shifter bushing the tranny shifts much better and as far as I can tell the grinding is gone.

So I then decided to swap the redline fluid out for something better. Pretty much the Motul Gear 300 is really good for the 6mt in the STI but the best is the Subaru "Extra S" fluid if you can find it. They sell it in a drum for $160ish plus a lot for shipping, I was about to order a drum and decided to call dbtuned to see if paul can get it and he tells me he keeps it in stock and its the only fluid he uses for the 6mt & 5mt

So I just got home after having paul do the tranny fluid on my STI and the difference is HUGE! Grinding is gone, it shifts very very smooth! Subaru Extra S is the shizzle!!!!!
