Is the Redline 75w90ns any good?
Hey all, i need to change my transmission fluid because i am having problems shifting to 2nd gear(crunches when shifting fast), i live in australia and im thinking of ordering some Redline 75w90ns from overseas, cos no one sells those higher end brands such as motul and Redline. I was just wondering what people think about the Redline 75w90ns and if it would work well in my legacy, and any personal experiences with it.
Thanks
Thanks

Neo? Is that a different brand all together? Honestly i have never heard of it, i live in Australia and it is very hard to find these type of oils(motul, redline, neo etc) most auto stores only carry the normal granny-shifting oils like valvoline(which i just put in 4 months ago), castrol etc. The only higher-end oil i could find was redline and im getting it from shipped from overseas from Cobbtuning, if anyone knows some websites who has these kinds of oils and will ship overseas pleeeease let me know.
Thanks.
Thanks.
i replaced my mobile 1 with the royal purple with the intention of getting rid of the bearing noise in my trans. Well, the noise did not go away but i can shift to1st from 2nd at 20mph now!

Again, here is Australia, no one sells those brands, the best brand available locally here would probably be Mobil 1, but from what you just said its obviously not very good. Did you only have from shifting 1st to 2nd? Or all gears? My 1st to 2nd shifting is starting to get very frustating, from a start i usually rev 1st gear to 3k, i go to put it into 2nd and just put pressure on it and when it drops to about 2k it goes into 2nd. If anyone knows of anyway i can get these oils pleeeeeeez let me know. Maybe if someone can ship to me?

If you use Redline in the gearbox, be sure to use 75w90 and NOT 75w90NS. The NS is for open differentials, while the Subaru AWD gearbox contains a limited slip center diff. Plus, the friction modifiers help to protect the synchros and make shifting easier.

Hey all, just wanted to let you all know that i finally got some motul gear oil(motul gear 300), was a little bit pricey at $24.95/litreAUD, bought 4 bottles. I'll put it in 2morrow and post the results, hopefully it will get rid of the 1st to 2nd gear change problem, if it does, it'll be the best $100 i ever spent

Just put the Motul gear 300, in, wow! what a difference, i can now redline 1st gear and change to 2nd without crunching, there is a slight pause between the gear change but id expect that as this isnt a dog box. I didnt think this oil would make such a difference but it has! I will now use no other oil but Motul, for gearbox and engine, they surely won me over. Thanks again everyone for all your help.
