Exclamation popping out of gear!??

while driving in 5th gear I noticed there is a little bit of play in the shifter. when on the throttle the shifter moves back a bit towards the nuetral position and when I let off the gas it moves back the the top of the gate. sometimes while driving the car comes out of gear completely so I dont know what the hell thats all about. this only happens in fifth gear though. any help woudl be great. thanks

whoa there!!!!!

you need to check your tranny fluid right away and stop driving. if the fluid is low, you are in deep crap cuz that happened to me. i brought my car in to a shop to have my tranny fluid changed and they forgot to finish adding oil. there was only like have a quart of oil in there. when i ripped apart my tranny, 2 of the gears
were GONE!!!!

i didnt think it would be too horrible when i was driving so i continued home. stick kept on popping out and didnt know why. when i was almost home, my car completely died while on the way home. car jerked and died. RPM gauge stopped and car wouldnt get out of gear. a HUGE PAIN!!!

if the fluid is low, quickly add the appropriate amouint of fluid. i think its 3.8 quarts from empty.

That sounds pretty bad. Though i wonder if you have bent a fork in the transmission. When crap happens to the tranny its time to take it to an expert.

Goto your dealer or a specialty shop.

check engine and tranny mounts, wornout mounts can cause u to pop out of gear.

yeah dude. thast what I thought but...I found out there is a bolt that has been known to back off and then i guess making the fork lose. and there are peices of plastic in there that were out. I had an A.D.D. moment when the it was explained to me but it made sence. plus I think there might have been a TSB floating around about this kinda thing a while ago. I am going to have it looked at next week probably
